Santa Monica Construction Management

Professional construction management services in Santa Monica

Santa Monica is home to one of the West Coast’s most famous beaches but it is perhaps best known for its iconic Santa Monica Pier and the Third Street Promenade, an eclectic and diverse shopping destination. Stonemark has performed construction management for custom estates, multi-family residential and commercial projects in Santa Monica and the affluent and exclusive enclaves of nearby Los Angeles neighborhoods including Brentwood, Pacific Palisades, Bel Air, Westwood as well as Malibu. Projects of note include master planning for an 88-unit luxury mid-rise directly across from Ocean Park, a $23 million commercial retrofit for a UCLA Medical Center building, and a commercial tenant improvement project to convert a 20,000 SF hangar at the Santa Monica Airport into a production studio. Our thorough control systems ensure confidence in the building process, allowing clients to focus on their own core business while their projects are underway.

Construction in the City of Santa Monica can require approvals from the Architectural Review Board, the Landmarks Commission and the City Planning Commission. Santa Monica also recently adopted an interim ordinance that temporarily reduces the size of new construction in R1 residentially zoned districts. This interim ordinance will stay in effect until a comprehensive review process with the public identifies the appropriate size and scale of new construction in Santa Monica neighborhoods. The professional staff at Stonemark are problem solvers; we specialize in early planning in order to navigate through the complex approval processes efficiently and proactively, ensuring your project comes to fruition.
Our Work

We retained Stonemark for our extremely complex project to retrofit an Automated Vehicle Retrieval System at the fully operational UCLA Medical Center in Santa Monica. Stonemark was truly a turn-key operation regarding the management and control of the $20+ million correction plan for the garage. They led us through a challenging preconstruction period, gathering consensus from divergent stakeholders and with zero unplanned interruptions to the Medical Center during construction. The success of the project is a testament to Stonemark’s strong communications, problem solving skills and senior management team experience. We would certainly engage Stonemark again.
