Automated Vehicle Storage/Retrieval parking system for UCLA garage
Stonemark managed the preconstruction and construction phase services for the design and installation of an Automated Vehicle Storage/Retrieval System (AVSRS) for a UCLA medical building and surgical center in Santa Monica. The building has a 54,255 SF subterranean parking garage with six levels and 241 spaces. Scope of work included removal of the existing defective equipment and extensive modifications to the building structure, and mechanical, electrical, and fire protection systems to accommodate the new system, as well as procurement and management of the automated vehicle retrieval system supply and installation. Stonemark assisted the owner in negotiating with stakeholders many complex multi-party issues to obtain consensus on an effective retrofit design that accommodated all concerns within an operating surgical center. The project was completed without any down-time to the surgery center by scheduling many tasks including heavy concrete demolition and drilling on nights and weekends.
